Sugar Shack and Hollywood Cemetery

A trip to Richmond is not complete until we have gone to Sugar Shack :)  We got lots of flavors and split them all while driving through Hollywood Cemetery.  They were just as delicious as always.

It's such a creepy and pretty cemetery!
Carson got a big boy car seat this week also!

Unfortunately we had to say Goodbye.  I keep thinking that goodbyes will eventually get easier but it still stinks!

Maymont and Williamsburg

Sunday we decided to have a relaxing day not filled with a bunch of driving.  We went over to Maymont Park and went through the mansion.  Then we went down and saw the Japanese Gardens there.

Williamsburg was great!  It was a little rainy on and off that day but it was warm.

For lunch we stayed inside Colonial Williamsburg and went to a old Tavern.  It was... Good but you definitely are paying for the experience.

Exploring William and Mary University.

Monticello

We decided to go to Monticello when Jordan was around.  So we waited for him to study in the morning and then left.  Monticello is about 45 mins away from us.

Of course we didn't eat before leaving so to avoid me and mom going crazy with low blood sugar we ate at the Monticello Cafe before getting on the bus.

Carson once again fell asleep on the tour.  It's been very nice since the tours have been 45ish mins and normally he would be going crazy getting held for that long.

The gardens were so pretty!!

Me and Jordan with Thomas Jefferson.

We started driving home and drove past Carter's Orchard.  It's a farm that you can pick your own apples.  They also have everything apple!  Apple cider, apple cider donuts, apple cider slushies, apple pie, apple butter and everything else you can think of.  We tried lots and bought some apples but didn't pick them ha ha.  It was so much fun there and the orchard is on a mountain so the view is amazing!

After we went to dinner and then went to Rays frozen custard.

VMFA and the Confederate White House

My parents came out to visit!  I think we did more sightseeing in a week than me and Jordan have done in a year ha.  The first day they were here it was a little rainy so we went to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.

They literally had a little of every thing and every time period and every country. It was pretty overwhelming but great.

The next day we headed downtown to meet Jordan for lunch and then go to the Confederate White House.

We ate at a really yummy food cart called Toasties.

Carson fell asleep during the tour of the house and stayed asleep for awhile.  We went through the museum after.  They had a lot of uniforms and flags.

We ended the day at Deep Run Roadhouse.  It's definitely a favorite of ours ha.
