Memorial day BBQ at the Bitners

Memorial Day BBQ. The Bitner's were nice enough to let us use their house. It is perfect and out on a farm. Lots of room for all the kids! Jordan made ribs and pulled pork and we had all the residents come.

Coldplay concert Chicago 2022

Thanks to the Porters we headed to Chicago for a few days to go to the Coldplay concert. It was so weird without kids but amazing ha! Jordan really wanted to stay at the Trump tower, and it was definitely not our style of people there. It was way too fancy!

The concert was amazing! It's been so long since we've been to a concert, I had forgotten how fun they are. Coldplay did all the entertainments with confetti, beachballs, fireworks and wristbands that did light shows the entire time. I'm so glad we went to it.

Meanwhile at home, the kids were having the time of their lives.

Girls nights, Camping dinner and Raptor center

Kirkwood had an end of year celebration. They had pizza and balloons and a whole bunch of books.

Girls night for Charly's birthday. Just more excuses to hang out. 

Migs put together a friend campout with everyone for her hubby's birthday. Since Jordan was on call me and the boys just went up for dinner and smores. Of course the boys wanted to stay forever. The boys were in heaven running around like crazies, playing football, and playing on the playground.

Another one last time outing. The Raptor Center. It's beautiful at this time. They actually had a lot of birds this time. Liam kept calling the Eagles "Chickens."

I know I've said it a million times but we have such a great group of kids here. I couldn't have asked for better friends for my boys which makes things so much worse leaving them. 

Nauvoo and GJ and Speedy visit

GJ and Speedy came out to visit one last time before we leave Iowa. They wanted to go down to Nauvoo. We headed to Carthage Jail and then stayed in an Airbnb above a little food place called the Red Front in Nauvoo. GJ's coworker's daughter owns it. Brooks decorated GJ in stickers and made her wear them around. She was nice enough to actually do it ha ha. 

We ran into some of our friends while there! Just the kids had gone with their grandparents while the parents were looking for a house in Colorado. They are graduating also this year from ophthalmology. They were the first family I met and hung out with when we first moved to Iowa.  

Hanging out around the house. Speedy always getting donuts for the boys and GJ always making me workout. 

We went down to the Amish town one last time. Which is always fun.
